Jim Butcher stopped by The Signed Page on May 30, 2014 to sign copies of his new Dresden Files book, Skin Game.
As usual, he was his affable and comedic self. Talk quickly turned to exploding teeth that hampered his completion of the first book in a new steampunk series. While author Peter Orullian, my girlfriend Kristin and I cringed in horror, Jim continued to talk about a menageries of different things while he signed books. I will probably share a number of them in a few days when I post video taken at Jim’s event.
Like what the title of Jim’s Unfettered II short story contribution is…
Anyway, I then thought, “Let’s screw with Pat Rothfuss a bit.”
Eagerly nodding, Jim heartily agreed.
Here are the photos I took:
And here are the two hilarious pictures, directed at Pat Rothfuss:
For those of you who don’t know, I acquired the artist Donato Giancola sketch that led to the original painting for The Name of the Wind. It hangs in my home where The Signed Page largely exists. One day I will likely give it to Pat but for now—it is my preciousss.
Jim felt like being cheeky. The first photo features some of Jim’s Signed Page books while Kvothe looks on, a nice picture of Jim doing what he does best. The second photo? You can see for yourself. I believe Jim said of the second photo, “It’s like Christmas. But with more… me.”
FYI, for those of you who might ask, I will be offering a new giveaway tomorrow for the Skin Game poster. It is signed by Jim and pretty sweet!
I have a few copies left of Skin Game too.
First come, first sold.
