New Online Signings: Bear, Kadrey, Weber

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Out of the Dark by David WeberI don’t have much science fiction on The Signed Page sadly, mostly because I do not know the authors. That is slowly changing though and I have two great ones coming up along with an author who has not visited The Signed Page before.

Greg Bear is back with his new book, Hull Zero Three. What can I say about Greg? Greg is one of the smartest writers I’ve met. He likes taking science and twisting it to suit his storytelling needs, adding a human element that creates wonderful reads. With Hull Zero Three, he is going back out into space. I’m excited about this one as it has been two years since I’ve read a Bear book. Plus I love the premise, the cover, and the price! Haven’t read Greg Bear? Here is a great chance for you.

David Weber should be known to all as well. David is the author of the Honor Harrington series of novels. He has written something wholly new though with Out of the Dark, the first book of what he hopes will be many. I have to say I love the premise of this one too. And with one of the best science fiction novel covers I’ve seen in over a decade. Out of the Dark is a great jumping on point for people wanting to experience well-written science fiction by one of the masters of the genre!

Depending on the quantities ordered, David may be stamping the books in place of his signature. He has a persistent wrist problem that makes it so. He may sign though, therefore it just depends on the amount people order. Pictures will be taken of the signing, of course.

On a hilarious crazy front, Richard Kadrey will be stopping by for the first time for his new Sandman Slim novel, Kill the Dead. Haven’t hear of Sandman Slim? Read the summary of the new novel HERE and you’ll see why people are loving what Kadrey is writing right now!

Shipping Update

Saturday, September 4th, 2010

I’m through about 3/4 of the Terry Brooks books. The last 1/4 will be gone from me by Wednesday. That should include both domestic and international.

If you haven’t received your book, it is coming. Writing me an email asking me a status update only slows me down, as I have a terrible propensity to answer every single email I receive! Ha!

In other news, Brent Weeks signed copies of The Black Prism and they will be shipped also during this forthcoming week. Stay tuned!

Terry Brooks Signing

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Terry signed all of the copies of Bearers of the Black Staff ordered before August 26th as well as extra stock for people come late to the signing. It took him several hours since the amount was large, but he was thrilled with the amount of people taking advantage of The Signed Page since he isn’t touring this year.

Here is a picture taken after he had finished:

Terry Brooks holds Bearers of the Black Staff

I am currently shipping the books out as quickly as I can. It is hampered by a sudden occurrence of bursitis in my right elbow. It is slowing me down but I am doing the best I can, despite my MD telling me not to do anything with it. What do MDs know, right? There are fans needing their Terry Brooks fix! Tomorrow all of the domestic multiple-book orders not waiting for another book will be shipped out, about 80 books in all. I might be able to get some of the individual books out too. Just depends on the arm. The rest of the books will be picked up by the post office Monday, Tuesday, and probably Wednesday next week.

In short, I am doing the best I can with the ailing arm I have! Ha!

Just be patient and you’ll get your book soon. I promise.

Big Signings This Week

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

This week Terry Brooks will be signing copies of Bearers of the Black Staff. On Thursday, Brent Weeks will be signing The Black Prism. And on Friday, Kat Richardson will be signing copies of Labyrinth!

A busy week with lots of shipping. Be patient as I make my way through them. I am, after all, only one man with a penchant for signed books! Thanks!

As an aside, all copies of The Adventures of the Princess and Mr. Whiffle signed by Patrick Rothfuss have shipped if they are not waiting on other books on the order.

Novik International Shipped

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Just a quick update to let you all know that all copies of Naomi Novik’s Tongues of Serpents—both domestic and international—have shipped.

I have about 8 copies left for those of you who missed out.

Carry on. :)

New Signings: Lauren Kate & Kelley Armstrong

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

I am truly pleased to see so many female authors coming into The Signed Page.  For a while there I thought I’d only have male signings!

And what fun is that, right?

Anyway, in the last few days I’ve secured two of the best in the business:

WAKING THE WITCH by Kelley Armstrong

Got an urban fantasy itch? This is the book for you! Kelley Armstrong has long been one of the more popular — and prolific — writers in the genre. Now, with WAKING THE WITCH, she has decided to tell the story of one of her side characters. This is a perfect jumping on point for readers new to Kelley’s work. Plus, with that cover, it will make a gorgeous addition to any library or collection. This signing is a fast one though, taking place next week on August 4th, so get your orders in FAST!

FALLEN & TORMENT by Lauren Kate

I honestly had no idea who Lauren Kate was until I saw the stunning cover she had been given for TORMENT, her forthcoming book. After doing some poking around, I discovered she is the woman responsible for writing FALLEN, a wonderful read about fallen angels and the women they fall in love with once on Earth. I then interviewed her. Here is that interview:

There is a second part of that interview. It can be found on YouTube HERE.

FALLEN is a powerful story about love never dying, and TORMENT is the second book in that series. Lauren will be signing in October, so if you want a great read with angels, here you go!

Redick and Novik Shipped

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Just a brief update.  The Red Wolf Conspiracy and The Ruling Sea signed by Robert V.S. Redick have shipped out and have been gone from me for some time.  I don’t believe I updated the site about it though, so there you go.

Also, today will see USPS pick up all domestically ordered copies of Tongues of Serpents and In His Majesty’s Service, signed by Naomi Novik.  I still have a few copies of the former left, so first come first served!  The internationally ordered copies will all be gone from me by tomorrow.

New Signings Posted!

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

As promised, I have posted the new pre-ordering periods for the upcoming late summer/early fall signings.  There are three or four others I am working on too, which include Behemoth by Scott Westerfeld, The Dervish House by Ian McDonald, The Half-Made World by Felix Gilman, and Against All Things Ending signed by cover artist John Jude Palencar.

The Way of Kings signed by Brandon SandersonHere is what I have up now:

As you can see, these are some very good books.  As usual, if you have any questions about them just ask me.  I am always around.  And remember: If you order books together in one order to save on shipping, the books in the entire order won’t ship until the very last one has been signed.

In other news, I have received the last box of The Ruling Sea signed by Robert VS Redick.  All copies will be gone from me tomorrow.  It turns out I have four copies of The Red Wolf Conspiracy signed by Redick as well.  If you want one of them, write me.

I will also be posting an article tomorrow that contains my additional single copies that I have left over from signings.  So if you missed something previously, you might still be able to get it.  Stay tuned!

Two More Updates

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

I have received 3 of 5 Robert Redick boxes back so far.  All copies from those 3 books have been shipped out and left me today via the USPS.  I hope to receive the other two boxes soon and put this late signing to bed finally!

I have taken down the pre-ordering period for The Adventures of the Princess and Mr. Whiffle signed by Patrick Rothfuss.  The copies are enroute to me now, and once they arrive I must ship them to Pat for signing.  I may have a few copies left.  If I do, I will re-post the signing and make them available.  Stay tuned!

Missed Jacqueline Carey?

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

Naamah's Curse signed by Jacqueline Carey I have received several emails from Jacqueline Carey fans who missed out on the signing.

It’s a good thing I over-ordered just for this situation!

The Signed Page has 11 signed copies left of Naamah’s Curse signed by Jacqueline Carey.  It’s first come, first served, of course.  The books will ship immediately upon ordering.

As always, Jacqueline was a delight to have visit again.  She has come to Seattle for years in a row now because of you all, her fans.  All credit deserves to go to her.  So the next time you see her in person or on Facebook, definitely thank her for signing books at The Signed Page.  She puts in all the work — no matter what she would have you believe!  Ha!
