Robin Hobb Update: Orders with The Illustrated Assassin's Apprentice

Robin Hobb Update: Orders with The Illustrated Assassin's Apprentice

Hi Robin Hobb Reader,

I have some bad news but good news for some of you.

Bad news first. Penguin Random House has yet again let one of its Hobb titles go out of print. The Illustrated Assassin’s Apprentice is no longer available at the publisher and I can’t get copies into my warehouse for Robin to sign. PRH has let me know that more copies are being printed and will be in their warehouse in mid-September. Which means I’ll get copies in late-September. Which means I can’t fulfill your order until then. Due to this, if you’d like a refund, let me know.

When Robin signed on Tuesday, I let her know this. There has to be a better method to ensure these important books don’t go out of print for months on end because bookstores like mine need these books in a timely manner. Otherwise, both Robin and PRH misses out on sales. And readers can't get their books.

What’s the good news, you may ask?

Well, I feel horrible about this. I abhor people not getting their books, especially those of you who have multiple other books on your orders that I do have in stock. So I decided to split a lot of orders over the last two days and ship out as many books as I could. The extra shipping needed costs me a bit of money, but at least I can sleep at night knowing I’m getting you as many books as I can while we wait on The Illustrated Assassin’s Apprentice to arrive back into the warehouse.

If you have any questions, do let me know. Robin will be signing again in late-September, and that’s when I hope to fulfill all of these orders and finally get you all your books.

With Magic,
Shawn Speakman
