Pre-Order Now: Smoke Bitten by Patricia Briggs

It is time to test something!

For almost two decades, I usually post pre-order books no more than 4 months before the publication date. I do this for several reasons, the best being I don’t want to deal with mailing address changes all of the time.

But posting The Illustrated Assassin’s Apprentice signed by Robin Hobb so early has resulted in a lot more pre-orders coming into the website. This is good for business, obviously. And when Patricia Briggs’s assistant Ann let me know that the new Mercy Thompson book’s cover was going to be revealed and if I wanted to place the pre-order page up now, I almost said no. Then I realized we could test out the earlier pre-order period again. And see how it all went.

Mercy Thompson is back in Smoke Bitten! Pre-order HERE NOW! And Patty will be signing in March, likely the day before the book’s release. Here are more details about Smoke Bitten:

Mercy Thompson, car mechanic and shapeshifter, faces a threat unlike any other in this thrilling entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

I am Mercedes Athena Thompson Hauptman.

My only “superpowers” are that I turn into a thirty-five pound coyote and fix Volkswagens. But I have friends in odd places and a pack of werewolves at my back. It looks like I’m going to need them.

Centuries ago, the fae dwelt in Underhill–until she locked her doors against them. They left behind their great castles and troves of magical artifacts. They abandoned their prisoners and their pets. Without the fae to mind them, those creatures who remained behind roamed freely through Underhill wreaking havoc. Only the deadliest survived.

Now one of those prisoners has escaped. It can look like anyone, any creature it chooses. But if it bites you, it controls you. It lives for chaos and destruction. It can make you do anything–even kill the person you love the most. Now it is here, in the Tri-Cities. In my territory.

It won’t, can’t, remain.

Not if I have anything to say about it.

Update: The Name of the Wind

All unremarqued copies of The Name of the Wind triple-signed by Patrick Rothfuss, Dan Dos Santos, and Nate Taylor have shipped unless they are waiting for signed copies of future signings.

The remarque copies will take Nate Taylor some time to sketch up and make pretty. I will update the website when they are finished.

Sadly, due to an unfortunate terrible error on the part of my book distributor, I do not have extra copies.

More news soon!

New Signing: The Name of the Wind Triple-Signed

The Name of the Wind 10th Anniversary publishes October 3rd.

On October 2nd, The Signed Page will welcome Patrick Rothfuss, interior anniversary artist Dan Dos Santos, and map-maker Nate Taylor for a triple-signed event!

The book is gorgeous! The Signed Page is paying for Dan Dos Santos to fly out to Seattle for this super rare signing, hence the reason I’ve added a few extra bucks on top of the cover price. I think it is worth it. Luckily Nate Taylor is a local artist to me, making that easy! And we are lucky to have Pat fly out and do this so be sure to thank him for it.
