Emerald City Comic Con has postponed the convention that was supposed to take place this upcoming weekend. This is due to COVID-19. It is best to help keep people of all ages and health-levels safe. You can read the convention’s press release about this matter here.
This means that Penguin Random House will not be visiting Seattle. And not going with them, Jim Butcher. Jim was going to sign 50 hardcover copies of the 20th Anniversary Edition of Storm Front and I was going to hold a raffle for who could buy a copy. Unfortunately, PRH and I decided to cancel this because the logistics became too difficult to manage to ensure the books were in great condition.
I was excited to do this. But it just isn’t feasible. Hope to have Butcher news in the future though for Peace Talks. Stay tuned!
Peace Talks by Jim Butcher publishes in July and The Signed Page is working with Jim’s publicist to have him stop by and sign books. Fingers crossed on that front.
But the release of Peace Talks is not the only thing that Jim and Ace have up their sleeves this year. 2020 marks the 20th anniversary of Storm Front, the first book in the bestselling Dresden Files. 20 years is a worthy anniversary to celebrate such a wonderful series, and Ace will be selling an exclusive new hardcover of Storm Front at various conventions throughout the year.
Since I know many of you don’t attend conventions but you may love to own this book, I reached out to Jim’s publicist about getting some copies in. I’d probably need at least 500-700 copies. They could only give me 50. Eek! But Jim will sign the 50 at Emerald City Comic Con in March.
To keep this fair for everyone since more than 50 people will want this rare item, I decided to accept entries from those who want it. It will be $30-$50 or so, depending on how much Ace sells them to me for. If you are interested, enter your name and email below in the supplied contact form.
In early February, After Emerald City Comic Con, I will do a Live Video from The Signed Page Facebook Page and randomly draw names that have entered!
Then once Jim signs the books in March, I’ll reach out to the winners and send invoices to be paid. Super easy!
Good luck! And if you have any questions, do ask! I’m always around.
THIS CONTEST HAS ENDED
It is 2020! And the New Year starts off with Druid magic and an assassin’s life!
I will start with The Last Druid by Terry Brooks. This book is the culmination of over 40 years of Shannara! It concludes The Fall of Shannara series, which is also the chronological end of one of the most beloved fantasy epics of all time. Terry will personalize 100 copies of The Last Druid, and he will sign many more on top of that. The book publishes June 2, 2020 and I’m hoping to have Terry sign early so I can ship books out close to release date. Pre-order your signed copy of The Last Druid HERE.
The Signed Page also still has some signed copies of The Skaar Invasion, Book 2 of The Fall of Shannara. Add a copy to your pre-order receipt for The Last Druid!
Now to Robin Hobb, one of my favorite people and a fantastic author. Del Rey Books created The Illustrated Assassin’s Apprentice last year, the first book in her Farseer series. Now the publisher is producing a beautiful edition of the second book in the series—The Illustrated Royal Assassin! Robin will also be personalizing only 100 copies but she will be signing many more. You can pre-order your signed copy of The Illustrated Royal Assasin HERE.
Like The Skaar Invasion, I have a few signed copies left of The Illustrated Assassin’s Apprentice! Add a copy to your pre-order receipt for The Illustrated Royal Assassin!
And one last piece of news to share. Peace Talks by Jim Butcher is publishing this summer. The new Dresden Files novel is one of the biggest releases of the year. The Signed Page has requested Jim stop by to sign copies. I should know more about that by the end of April. But Ace is doing something really cool to celebrate 20 years of Dresden. They are producing a comic con exclusive hardcover edition of Storm Front, the first book in the series! These will only be available at conventions apparently.
But the fine folks at Ace are giving The Signed Page 50 copies outside of the convention circuit, which Jim will sign at Emerald City Comic Con in March! Since I could easily sell 1000 of these, I’m making this fair for everyone. On January 13th, I will accept entries via a contact form for people who are interested in buying this special edition of Storm Front. No idea what the price will be because I need to find out how much Ace will be selling them to me for. Be looking to enter to buy the book in one week!
Here’s to a great 2020! More magic coming! Thank you all for continuing to support The Signed Page!
