The amazing Kate Elliott has offered to sign copies of her new book, Servant Mage. You can read more about it on the pre-order page HERE. It is a 172-page hardcover that has been wonderfully blurbed by some great writers and bloggers. I’m eager to read it. I thought you might be too.
It publishes in January, to be signed by February 1st. Since the book is only 172 pages, it is smallish, which allows me to ship the books directly to Kate for signing. That means these copies can be signed and/or personalized on the title page.
Only 100 copies available. I can’t very well ship Kate more than that without killing her back moving four boxes.
Just a short message here. We are seeing amazing author Fonda Lee in the first week of December, in support of her new book Jade Legacy. Jade Legacy is the concluding book of the Green Bone Saga that began with Jade City and Jade War. Together, they comprise one of the best reviewed epic fantasy trilogies ever written. If that doesn’t interest you, I don’t know what would.
The Signed Page was always going to have Jade Legacy for pre-order. But then I saw that the first two books are still in hardcover from Orbit Books. I decided to order 100 of them. Jade City and Jade War are not first printings, just so we are clear on that point. But this helps people order all three volumes — signed — to look really nice on shelves. Great reading to be had, to be sure.
The Green Bone Saga is a trilogy comprised of volumes:
I am excited to share that The Signed Page has hired its first employee.
It might surprise many of you that The Signed Page has been a one-man effort for twenty years. It was. Life evolves though, and it is time for help. My writing career has grown to the point where I need to focus on writing every day. That is hard to do when there are some months where I spend 60 hours a week shipping books. While a part of me loves that kind of work, I must let it go.
Thankfully, I didn’t have to look too far for help. Sydney watched my young sons several years ago, and she now works the front desk at my wife’s salon. Why is Sydney perfect for this new job? She already has an idea of the work I did when shipping, she has an attention to detail that matches my own, and she works with a sense of urgency. All were important in hiring her.
And so far, she’s done an amazing job these last two weeks. She helped ship out Slewfoot by Brom, Child of Light by Terry Brooks, and The Last Graduate by Naomi Novik. That’s a lot of books shipped out. I couldn’t be happier.
So please welcome Sydney to The Signed Page!
Onward to a fun offering. Today, I want to highlight one of our titles for those of you looking for something new to read. We have 32 slightly-damaged copies of The Desert Prince by Peter V. Brett on sale for $15. It is the first book of a new trilogy, and it is the perfect place to jump into Peter’s work. Most of the copies have small bumping on the spine. Otherwise, they are really nice copies ready for your reading pleasure.
Happy Friday! I hope you’ll be reading something great this weekend. I’ll be wrapping up the omega proofread on Grim Oak’s Tailchaser’s Song by Tad Williams. And then I’ll roll right into his new Brothers of the Wind!
